Anyone above the age of 12 who has been baptised and wishes to make a public profession of Christian faith may prepare for Confirmation at St. Michael’s.
A joyful step of Christian commitment in the life of the Church of Ceylon.
Confirmation at St. Michael's
Confirmation is a significant step in the Christian life. In the Church of Ceylon, it is the moment when those who have been baptised publicly affirm the promises of their faith, renew their commitment to Jesus Christ, and pray for the strengthening of the Holy Spirit.
At St. Michael and All Angels, Confirmation is both personal and communal. It is a moment of prayer, maturity, and belonging within the life of the Church, as candidates take their place more fully in worship and witness.
Our Confirmation service is usually held in October every two years. In preparation, candidates are guided through a period of instruction and conversation so that they can approach the service with understanding, confidence, and reverence.
